Who wouldn't enjoy a Pint of Science!

Every year, scientists volunteer to give talks to the public in pubs across the UK, for an event called Pint of Science

If you've never been to one of these events, check out the website and see if something interesting in happening near you!

This year, for the first time, I volunteered to go along and give a talk about how we can use organic geochemistry and stable isotopes to investigate life on Earth. I covered topics ranging from the climate of the last 65 million years, through to modern efforts to conserve Zimbabwe's lions.

Once I had finished, I received probably the best compliment I have had as a scientist so far - "we need more scientists like you, you make it fun for people who never thought science was fun"
